Taipei’s Dragon Boat festival attracts people from all over Asia to observe the celebration. During the festival one can find themselves surrounded by various foods, activities, games, and, not to mention, the spectacle of over 212 dragon boats, all with various colors and designs, competing to see who’s the fastest.

Relationships abroad come in all shapes and sizes. It’s important to find ways to keep some of your routines from home while you’re abroad, but you should also be willing to accept something foreign, new, and outside your comfort zone.

Eating in Taiwan is fantastic, however, it’s pretty common in Asia to have a smaller apartment with no kitchen. I couldn’t fathom not having a kitchen when I moved halfway across the world—I cooked every day!

Why teach abroad you may ask? There are many reasons why you should teach abroad, you know it sounds like an awesome, life-changing adventure. But sometimes we get cold feet. Sometimes we spend a lot of time sitting on the fence weighing the pros and cons of something.

Startup costs should aways be considered before uprooting your life in your home country and there are several factors that come into it. Moving to a new country should always involve careful and thoughtful decision making.

For our latest RTT event we took our teachers for an Asian fusion night in Taipei, Taiwan. We wanted to bring our teachers together for a nice sit-down meal where we can all really chat and catch up.

The convenience of Taiwan is something that is commented on by many that travel and live here. The backbone to this is how well designed and efficient the transportation services are on this small island, something that really came in handy on a recent trip I took to Taichung.

Surviving mandarin in places like Taiwan and China can be a real challenge for a foreigner so learning the basics is key. There are plenty of resources that teach basic Chinese words and phrases for visiting a place like China or Taiwan.
