Located on the coast of the Black Sea, this developing city is seeing international investment from all over the globe – even from the likes of Donald Trump, who is building a new tower, hotels, and luxury living quarters in Batumi.

So what is it that is drawing people, and even “The Donald,” to this quaint city in the Republic of Georgia? Quite simply, it’s the picture-perfect beauty that can be seen at every turn. Do you prefer the beach? Batumi has miles of beautiful beaches. Are you someone who enjoys mountain panoramas? You’ll find these there too. In fact, everything from lush forests, sea views, mountain views, and even bamboo forests are on offer in charming Batumi.

All of this is great for tourists, but it’s even better for those who are thinking of making a long-term trip to Batumi, and especially for those of you who are planning on teaching English in Georgia. In addition to the scenery, people living in the city have access to many modern amenities. Even within this small and often conservative country, you will find that the nightlife in Batumi is quite entertaining. While the scene may not compare to places like New York, if you want to go out and dance, there are plenty of options to choose from and most of the hot spots are open air venues right on the beach. Batumi is a great place to hang one’s hat for a short vacation or for a long-term teaching assignment. Now that the Ministry of Education is changing their entire education system to include English language lessons, they are seeking hundreds of teachers to come and improve the English language ability of their students. This is a great opportunity to experience the wonder of Batumi for anywhere from three months to a year while getting paid!
